Hex book review

Author: Thomas Olde Heuvelt
Genre: Horror

I really wanted to like this book, but it’s hard to see what all the (apparent) fuss was about. It's well written but not actually that scary. That's the trouble with horrors and comedy's, they are harpooned by high expectations from the get-go. But the emotional depth of the characters was handled very well. You really get to know the characters, whatever age or motive. That's what earns it 4 stars. That and originality. A good concept for sure but it could have been a little sharper. There’s no overwhelming sense of dread like you would expect from the concept.
