Lethal White book review

Author: Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling)
Genre: Crime/mystery

I enjoyed the fourth Cormoran Strike book but it needed some serious editing in the second quarter. It starts by picking up straight after the last book at Robin’s wedding. Which is fascinating as we love the characters and Robin & Strike come perilously close to admitting they have feelings for each other. And then the plot starts and interest is lost until a murder happens around 285 pages. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and I’m not even certain all of Strike’s concerns and suspicions about them were all addressed by the end. I hoped the resolution of the mystery would compensate for the slow quarter and thereby earn 5 stars, but it didn’t. There are some half decent twists and a thrilling finale and I always love reading about these characters. But what I really want is another focused and thrilling mystery like The Cuckoo’s Calling. Which is still the best Strike novel in my opinion.
